The Time Traveled Chef
Chef Nate’s extensive culinary touring career began when he graduated from San Francisco State University . . . with a Political Science degree.
Upon graduation, he was offered an opportunity to go on tour with a traveling circus of bands that he admired growing up. The offer involved washing dishes for 500 people, three times per day. He took the job just to get his foot in the door and steered clear of politics, which he now believes was a great move.
During this time, he worked his way up from the bottom and learned every station, including the ins and outs of private cheffing and event catering. From 2007-2018, he traveled and cooked for large events, including the Vans Warped Tour, EDC, Life is Beautiful, Lighting in a Bottle, StageCoach, and Coachella.
For more than a decade, Chef Nate traveled and cooked for both artists and crews that included Prince, Motley Crue, KISS, Lionel Richie, Janet Jackson, Drake, Sia, OneRepublic, U2, Rihanna, J-Z, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, New Kids on the Block, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park and many more. By 2016, he had transitioned to the role of crew chief overseeing the entire crew's daily operations for these various tours.
After years of touring, he decided that it was time to pursue his own private cheffing career. In 2018, he launched the business that would become Thyme & Travel Private Chef Services.
In 2019, he married Glendalyne (Gigi), the love of his life, and together they travel the world providing private chef services and catering for events of all sizes. They now call Flagstaff home, and they primarily serve Flagstaff, Sedona, and the surrounding areas.
